Training

Every  member must take an official training course to MoD/NRA standard inorder to be allowed to shoot on MoD ranges. Upon completion you will be issued with your "Shooter Certification Card" which is required to be held by  all civillians using military ranges. This card must be carried with you every time you shoot. We are not allowed to let you shoot without it.

The training course is conducted over your first two visits to the range. The first will involve instruction followed by some shooting. The second will be a recap of the previous followed by a lot more shooting. Once you have completed these two visits and have proved your self safe then we will issue your Shooter Safey Card. You may then attend and shoot at any of the clubs shoots - once you have completed your six month probationary period you become a full member and may apply to the police for your own firearm certificate.

Training Fees
Training costs are set out on our fees page. The fee includes instruction by a club instructor, rifle and equipment hire and the issue of your Shooter Safety Card which will be re-issed annually upon renewal of your membership.

Tyne Valley Rifle Club is currently the only shooting club in the North East to offer this training.
